What is Holistic Counseling?
Holistic counseling is similar to traditional talk therapy, based on the same process of exploration, insight, and symptom reduction within a professional therapeutic relationship, but places a primary emphasis on the connection between an individual's physical, mental, and spiritual health. In holistic counseling, creative methods may be incorporated into treatment including guided meditation, energy healing, spiritual connection, art-based interventions, and body movement. In addition, adjunct treatments from other practitioners may be recommended to promote overall wellness such as nutritional consultation, testing for hormone imbalances, acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, past life regression therapy, somatic yoga, or Qigong, for example. All modalities and interventions are optional, and are offered based on their relevance to your present concerns, preferences, and needs. By taking a well-rounded, holistic approach to treatment, clients often find deep healing not possible with talk therapy alone, as well as renewed hope for the future.
